Villa Zeeland - Scharendijke, Netherlands
A holiday between the North Sea and Lake Grevelingen
Our Villa Zeeland is in a peaceful spot on the edge of Zeeland Village holiday park in Scharendijke.
Instead of looking out onto another holiday home, you can enjoy views across the neighbouring fields—one of our favourite spots in the park. Lake Grevelingen, Brouwersdam, the North Sea and Renesse are all just a short drive away.
This detached holiday home has around 110 m² of living space and plenty of room for up to 5 guests. Three bedrooms, two sunny terraces, a sauna and a private garden make the villa a wonderful base for beach days, bike rides and exploring Zeeland—all year round...

The ground floor has a bright living and dining area with an adjoining kitchen, a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom with a shower and sauna, and a separate guest toilet. Everything you need for a relaxing stay is already on this floor.
Upstairs, there are two more bedrooms and a spacious bathroom with a bathtub and toilet.
This makes the villa ideal for couples, two couples travelling together, or families with older children who appreciate a little extra space and privacy on holiday.
The approximately 400 m² grounds offer plenty of space to sit, dine and relax, with two sunny terraces. The open views across the neighbouring fields are particularly lovely. We especially appreciate the villa’s peaceful location at the edge of the holiday park.
There are two parking spaces right on the property. We recommend travelling by car, but once you’re here, there’s plenty to discover by bike.
Scharendijke is an ideal base for exploring Zeeland. Lake Grevelingen, the Brouwersdam and the North Sea are close by, and Renesse is also just a short drive away.
You can also take many lovely day trips from here—for example, to Zierikzee, the Delta Works or Neeltje Jans.
Even outside the summer months, the villa has much to offer. Walks along the seafront, bike rides through the tranquil countryside, and a relaxing sauna afterwards make Zeeland particularly beautiful in autumn and winter. That's why we rent the villa year-round.
For us, Villa Zeeland brings together everything we love about this region: peace and far-reaching views at the house, the sea and nature close by, and plenty of opportunities to explore Zeeland.

Zeeland – sea, open spaces and plenty to explore
Scharendijke lies between Lake Grevelingen and the North Sea and is an ideal base for exploring Zeeland. The region is also conveniently easy to reach from North Rhine-Westphalia—perfect for a seaside holiday without a long journey. Beaches, dunes, small towns, cycling routes and water are never far away.
Renesse, Brouwersdam and Lake Grevelingen are easy to reach, and there is plenty more to discover around Scharendijke on longer day trips.

The Grevelingenmeer lake is located directly near Scharendijke and is particularly popular with sailors, divers and water sports enthusiasts.
Just a few kilometres further on, the Brouwersdam crosses over to Goeree-Overflakkee. On the North Sea side, you’ll find miles of beaches, while the other side offers the calmer waters of Lake Grevelingen.
Renesse is also just a short drive away. This popular holiday resort has plenty of restaurants and shops, as well as a lively centre in summer.
If you prefer somewhere quieter and more unspoilt, the surrounding area also has charming little villages and lovely routes through dunes and fields and along the water.
We also love visiting Zierikzee. For us, this historic town with its old harbor, small shops, cafes and restaurants is one of the most beautiful places on Schouwen-Duiveland.
A special excursion takes you to the Delta Works. On Neeltje Jans, you can experience one of the Netherlands’ most impressive hydraulic engineering projects and learn about Zeeland’s centuries-long relationship with the sea.
Zeeland is also excellent for exploring by bicycle. The well-developed network of cycle paths leads through dunes, along the coast and through small villages – often away from main roads and always with views of the water.
We also love the region outside the peak season. The beaches and towns are much quieter then, and long walks by the sea or bike rides through the wide-open countryside are especially appealing.
Zeeland is also popular with many guests because it’s relatively quick to get to. Scharendijke is particularly easy to reach from North Rhine-Westphalia, so your holiday can get off to a relaxing start without spending a whole day travelling.
That’s why Scharendijke is an ideal base for us: enjoy a peaceful stay, reach the sea in no time, and explore a different corner of Zeeland every day.

Minimum stay: 5 nights
Do I need a car for my holiday?
We definitely recommend a car for getting to Villa Zeeland. Once you arrive, though, you can often leave it parked: Scharendijke, Lake Grevelingen, Brouwersdam and the many coastal paths are all great to explore by bike.
A car is a convenient way to explore Zeeland further afield—for example, Zierikzee, Renesse or the Delta Works.
Are pets allowed?
No, pets are not allowed at Villa Zeeland. Unfortunately, we’ve had some very bad experiences in the past, including badly soiled gardens, damaged furniture and scratched doors.
How do I pay when booking directly?
A 25% deposit is due upon booking. The remaining balance is payable 14 days prior to arrival. Cash payment on site is also possible by prior arrangement.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel free of charge up to 30 days before arrival. For cancellations made 29 to 14 days before arrival, we charge 50% of the rental price; for cancellations made 13 days or less before arrival, we charge 90%. The final cleaning fee is not charged if you cancel.

Where can I go shopping?
Right next to the park there is a large supermarket that can be reached on foot.
Is smoking allowed in the house?
No. Smoking is not permitted in the villa.
Are there any restaurants nearby?
Yes. Scharendijke has several restaurants within walking distance. You’ll find our personal recommendations in our travel tips.
When can I use the sauna?
The sauna is available to you free of charge 24/7. Sauna towels and bathrobes are provided (included in the rental price).
Is Villa Zeeland suitable for a winter holiday too?
Yes. Villa Zeeland is available to rent all year round, and the quieter months have a charm of their own.
In autumn and winter, the beaches are significantly less crowded, walks along the North Sea and the Grevelingenmeer are particularly beautiful, and bike tours through the expansive countryside are also great fun. After a day outdoors, your own sauna is, of course, especially welcome.
The villa is also popular over Christmas. If you’d like to experience Zeeland outside the main season, you’ll find plenty of peace and quiet, fresh sea air and lots of places to explore nearby.
Is the villa suitable for young children?
Only to a limited extent. There is a steep staircase in the house, and a water channel runs along the property. For this reason, we recommend the villa for families with older children.
The house is particularly well suited to couples, two couples travelling together, or families with older children.
How far away are the North Sea, Lake Grevelingen and Renesse?
Villa Zeeland enjoys a particularly convenient location between Lake Grevelingen and the North Sea. Lake Grevelingen is only about 500 metres away, while Brouwersdam and the North Sea beach are around 2 kilometres away. Renesse is also close by, about 5 kilometres away.
Many places are easy to reach by bike: the North Sea beach is about 8 minutes away, and Renesse about 20 minutes. Renesse is around 10 minutes away by car.
We especially love this location: enjoy a peaceful stay while still being just minutes from the sea, Brouwersdam, and Renesse.
